Welcome to Our Farmhouse Family
At Fiona's Farmhouse, we believe childcare should feel like a second home. We've created a warm, safe haven where children can kick off their shoes, explore nature, and just be kids. It's not just a daycare; it's a community where every child is known, loved, and encouraged to grow.
A Boutique Early Learning Program

Fiona's Farmhouse Childcare & Early Learning
Fiona's Farmhouse Childcare & Early Learning is a boutique early childhood program offering the warmth of a small group setting with the structure and intention of a preschool learning center.
Although licensed as an in-home program, our childcare operates in a completely separate, dedicated learning space designed exclusively for children. Families often describe Fiona's Farmhouse as feeling much more like a private preschool or early learning studio than a traditional in-home daycare.
Our environment is thoughtfully designed to support focus, exploration, and calm — without the distractions of a family residence.

Fiona Vassar
Hi, I'm Fiona, and I'm so glad you're here. I founded Fiona's Farmhouse Childcare & Early Learning out of a deep passion for children, community, and the belief that the early years matter — profoundly. As a certified neurodivergent coach and early childhood educator, I believe children thrive when they feel safe, respected, and genuinely seen. I am incredibly proud of the community we've built here — a place where children feel joy in trying, confidence in growing, and pride in their accomplishments.

Amy
Amy brings warmth, creativity, and boundless energy to our classroom every day. Her gentle approach and natural rapport with children make her an invaluable part of our team. She specializes in arts & crafts, music activities, and creating joyful learning moments.
Our Philosophy
We believe in learning through experience, nature, and play.
Gardening, Planting & Nature Identification
Our signature program! Children plant seeds, nurture gardens, and learn to identify plants, flowers, and wildlife. A core part of our nature-focused curriculum.
Nature Exploration
Daily outdoor adventures teach children about the natural world, fostering curiosity, responsibility, and respect for all living creatures.
Montessori-Inspired Learning
Child-led exploration with hands-on materials that foster independence, concentration, and a lifelong love of learning.
Creative Play
Art, music, and imaginative play foster creativity, problem-solving, and emotional expression in a joyful environment.
Individualized Learning — Not Age-Based Expectations
We do not believe children should be defined by their age. Our program is individualized to each child's developmental stage, interests, and needs.

While age ranges help guide enrollment, our program is individualized to each child's developmental stage, interests, and needs — not a predetermined checklist tied to age.
Children develop skills on their own timelines, and we intentionally design our program to support meaningful growth rather than comparison.
As a boutique early learning program led by a certified neurodivergent coach, we observe children closely and adapt activities, materials, and expectations to support meaningful growth.
We Intentionally Support:
Individual Strengths & Interests
We observe and celebrate what makes each child unique
Different Learning Styles
Adapted activities for varying sensory and developmental needs
Development at Their Own Pace
Social, emotional, and cognitive growth without comparison
This Approach Allows Children To:
Build Confidence Without Pressure
Children thrive when they're not measured against arbitrary age milestones
Engage More Deeply in Learning
Meaningful activities matched to individual readiness and interests
Feel Respected and Understood
Each child is valued for who they are, not who they 'should be'
Develop Independence in a Supportive Environment
Scaffolded support that honors each child's developmental journey
Learning at Fiona's Farmhouse is guided by who the child is, not where they "should be" based on age alone.
Our Core Values & Beliefs
These values guide everything we do at Fiona's Farmhouse. They shape our approach to care, learning, and relationships with families.

Children Deserve Warmth, Joy, and Respect
I believe childhood should be filled with warmth, laughter, and genuine joy. There is nothing more meaningful than watching a child try something new, work through a challenge, and succeed in their own time. Those moments — quiet or big — matter deeply.
The First Five Years Matter
The first five years of a child's life set the foundation for everything that follows. I have a clear understanding of this developmental window and approach my work with great care, intention, and responsibility. What we do now shapes confidence, resilience, and a love of learning for years to come.
Trust Is Earned and Honored
I understand how much trust it takes for a family to place their child in someone else's care. That trust is never taken lightly. I respect the responsibility of caring for your child and strive to honor your family's values, routines, and hopes for your child every single day.
Individualized Care Over One-Size-Fits-All
Children are not defined by their age. They are individuals with unique strengths, needs, and interests. Our program adapts to the child — not the other way around. Growth happens at each child's pace, and that pace is respected.
Learning Through Music, Movement, and Real Life
Music, movement, nature, and practical life experiences are powerful tools for learning and regulation. With a lead teacher who is a music educator, we intentionally use music throughout the day to support transitions, connection, and joy.
Community and Village Matter
I love my community deeply and believe children thrive when families feel supported and connected. Fiona's Farmhouse is more than a childcare program — it's a small village built on trust, respect, and shared values. Together, we are stronger.
Communication and Flexibility Build Happy Families
I value open communication and flexibility. When families feel heard and supported, children feel secure and happy. I work closely with families to build strong relationships because I believe partnership is essential to a child's success.
A Final Note
Fiona's Farmhouse Childcare & Early Learning is a place where children are loved for who they are, supported as they grow, and celebrated for their efforts — not just their achievements.
If you're looking for a calm, intentional, relationship-driven program that truly sees your child, I would be honored to be part of your village.
